They_re leading us off with the fall out to a suspected INSIDER attack on American troops in Afghanistan. What_s the latest Vic. Natasha, the majority of joint US-Afghan military operations have been suspended indefinitely. This follows Sunday_s attack, which killed four US troops. Officials think it was an inside job. They say 51 NATO soldiers have been killed in what they refer to as blue-on-green attacks, this year alone. A senior official says the US can no longer trust Afghan personnel.Vic, according to sources close to the situation, the suspension could last for three days or three months. Last May, the US announced that 23-thousand troops would be pulled out of Afghanistan by the end of summer, leaving full responsibility to Afghan troops by the end of 2014. Whether or not these new strains on the relationship affects that process remains to be seen. A massive manhunt is currently underway in Mexico for over 130 inmates who escaped from prison through a large tunnel near the country_s shared border with the US. Prisoners started the tunnel in the jail_s carpentry workshop, and then cut through the perimeter fence. Texas border guards have been put on alert in case any of the fugitives try to flee to the US.Mexican officials say the tunnel was over 4 feet wide and 23 feet long. There are also suspicions that corrupt jail guards helped spring the prisoners loose. Many of those on the lam have ties to the country_s notoriously drug cartels. The state government is offering a reward of over 15-thousand dollars for information leading to the arrest of each convict. Microsoft has released an urgent warning to Internet Explorer browser users. They_re urging them to download a security patch to protect from a dangerous new bug. A security flaw in Explorer_s software has been exposed that can allow hackers to remotely control infected PC_s. The free security software can be downloaded from Microsoft_s website, and is called the Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit. The company says it should protect users until an updated version of Internet Explorer is released. I_ll just say that I_m glad I switched over to Google Chrome a few months ago.
