Also in New York, Sulaiman Abu Ghaith - the son in law of Osama bin Laden - was sentenced to life behind bars by a Manhattan federal judge. Abu Ghaith was the primary spokesman for Al Qaeda after the 911 attacks, and was charged with conspiring to kill Americans. During sentencing, Abu Ghaith went off on a five-minute rant, that ended with him predicting the inevitable downfall of the US. The 48-year old is the highest-ranking member of the terrorist organization to be tried on American soil since 911. Meanwhile, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have issued some alarming numbers about the ebola outbreak in West Africa. New data suggests that between 500-thousand and 1-point-4 MILLION people will be infected with the virus by January. The higher-end number is based on a worst-case scenario and is unlikely but health officials are warning that if the epidemic isn_t conquered soon, the disease could become a permanent part of life in West Africa.
