First up though, Peyton Priestly has a Naked News Bulletin. Carli, the city of Flint, Michigan has declared a state of emergency over its drinking water. Mayor Karen Weaver made the announcement after a substantial rise in the number of people testing positive for lead in their systems. Concerns about Flint_s water supply began almost immediately after the city switched from using Detroit_s water system in 2014, to using the local Flint river. Mayor Weaver says that she hopes the announcement will secure assistance from state and federal agencies. Three men have been arrested for their part in a hacking scheme that targeted 60 MILLION people. Ringleader Timothy Livingston, of Boca Raton, Florida bypassed spam filters to send millions of unwanted emails touting the services of insurance companies and online pharmacies. The group also hacked into the databases of companies Livingston had previously worked for, hijacking CUSTOMER email accounts to send even MORE spam emails. All three men now face charges of conspiracy to commit fraud. And the warming arctic has set a new temperature record According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the average air reading over land in the arctic, for the year ending in September, was the highest it_s been since records began in 1900. And according to the NOAA_s chief scientist, Warming is happening more than twice as fast in the Arctic than anywhere else in the world, and it_s directly related to climate change. Although we_re enjoying mild weather throughout most of North America at the moment Carli, we do tend to forget that it_s not ALWAYS a good thing. Yeah, maybe not but it certainly FEELS good, I_ll take this over freezing weather ANY-time. Thanks Peyton.
