I hear it was a pretty easy choice this week Angie.We always have a few candidates in the mix Kat but this week one stood head and shoulders above the pack - in all the worst ways The members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. They shamed themselves and everyone else associated with the national fraternity - and the University of Oklahoma. In case you missed it a video came to light a few days ago capturing SAE frat members singing a racist song about when black people might be invited to pledge. Spoiler alert - the answer is never. So yeah. That_s a thing that happened. IN 2015 The source of the shameful 9-second video is unknown but he or she obviously didn_t approve because the vid was passed on to a campus equality group called Unheard. THEY posted it online and it_s made headlines around the world - and rightfully so. You might expect this type of slimy behaviour at a Klan rally but not with supposedly well-educated college kids. As you_d expect the backlash around all this has been fierce. SAE denounced the actions of the Oklahoma chapter apologized and promised to investigate the incident. But that was hardly enough to satisfy most people. OU has dropped the hammer on the frat booting the racist bums from their on-campus house and completely severing ties with SAE. Two of the frat members have been expelled. And to make matters worse another video surfaced this week featuring SAE_s 79-year old house mother. She_d claimed she had no idea the boys in her frat sang songs like that. But the new video says otherwise. It shows her drunk and repeatedly chanting the n-word. Wow what a charming bunchFallout from the video scandal is likely far from over. The OU campus has seen a number of demonstrations against racism this past week. The school_s famous football team even skipped a practice to take part in a protest walking-arm-in-arm while wearing all black. The controversy has even cost the team a top-ranked recruit who changed his mind about being a Sooner. As if the SAE clowns weren_t already hated enough on campus now they_re messing with the school_s famous football program.
