Northern California_s famous wine country is now in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons FIFTEEN wildfires spurred on by strong winds and dry conditions are devastating the area. Over FIFTEEN HUNDRED buildings have been destroyed and more than TWENTY THOUSAND people have had to be evacuated California_s Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in eight counties, and efforts to contain the wildfires are ongoing. The War On Coal Is Over This is what the head of the US Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, said as he announced that the Trump Administration is getting rid of the Obama administration_s Clean Power Plan. Under the plan, states were expected to reduce their carbon emissions by 32 percent relative to 2005 levels by 2030. Pruitt, who has famously cast doubt on climate change, said the Clean Power Plan was an overreach.
