Mr. Donald J Trump Love him or hate him there_s no denying The Donald was the most-talked about person of the last twelve months. He_s a master at generating headlines and no matter where you looked this year he was causing controversy. He kicked the hype machine into full gear in June by finally doing something he_d been hinting at for YEARS: running for President. The YUUUGE announcement was just one part of a bizarre press conference that saw Trump ramble on about everything from the weak Obama administration to how America was losing to China. But it was his take on Mexican immigrants that drew the most headlines. Trump_s wall comments triggered a YUUUGE backlash amongst left wingers and even became the focal point of a South Park episode. You_d think a statement insulting the 50-plus million Hispanics in the US would be political suicide. I mean just ask Mitt Romney. Spanish language broadcaster Univision quickly announced it would NOT be airing Trump_s Miss Universe beauty pageant. NBC released a statement saying they were ending their business partnership with Trump effectively ending his role on The Apprentice. But then a funny thing happened. Trump surged to the LEAD in the GOP polls. It became clear pretty quickly that he was willing to do and say things that the rest of his Republican opponents - or puppets as Trump called them - would not. His antics and off-the-cuff remarks turned the GOP debates into must-see-TV events. And stodgy candidates like poor Jeb Bush just couldn_t keep up. And when Trump wasn_t tangling with the other candidates he was locking horns with the debate moderators Things got testy when Fox anchor Megyn Kelly brought up his less-than-stellar record in dealing with women. Trump_s supporters loved his take-no-prisoners approach and The Donald wasn_t done there. He repeatedly bullied Kelly on Twitter. Again you_d think alienating 53-percent of your voter base would be a TERRIBLE political move but Trump just kept cruising along. And then guess what happened? NBC came knocking with hat in hand and asked him to HOST SNL So much for the moral high ground. Say what you want about the overall quality of the episode but Trump helped SNL get its highest ratings in years At this point it doesn_t really matter what he says or does people just want to see more of him. He_s in the headlines every day - for better or worse - and that_s certainly helped him in the polls. It_s become the year_s longest-running joke and it kinda reminds me of that old Eddie Murphy bit about voting for Jessie Jackson. That_s right America it_s all fun and games right NOW but be careful what you wish for Now the big question is whether voters in 2016 will say You_re hired 2015 was a YUGE year for Donald Trump and that_s why he_s our choice for Person of the Year For Naked News I_m Isabella Rossini.
