You_d think so Anyway here_s the story. A British judge has sentenced Tom Hayes to 14 years behind bars for manipulating an interest rate known as Libor. Libor is the rate that banks use to borrow from one another, and it indirectly affects the cost of borrowing for houses, cars, and many other consumer items. Hayes, a former Citibank and UBS trader, was found guilty of masterminding a ring with other traders between 2006 and 2010. His attorneys argued he was little more than a scapegoat for an all-too-common practice in the industry, but the judge saw otherwise. The 35-year old is the first person in the UK to be convicted of Libor rigging.If you love porn, don_t go to India The country_s government has just issued a ban on 857 adult websites that officials say violate morality and decency. The government decision comes after India_s Supreme Court reviewed a petition last month claiming that porn caused sex crimes.
