The first calls for a tightening of Americais borders to curb illegal entry. The second would pave the way for many illegal immigrants to eventually obtain citizenship. And although the protection of undocumented workers has traditionally been a liberal initiative several high-profile Republicans are lending their support to the plan. These include Arizona senator John McCain and Florida senator Marco Rubio. Many analysts say the decision is sound noting that the GOP will eventually fall by the wayside if it doesnit build support among the countryis Latin community.
