And the Los Angeles Fire Chief is saying a bit of both Fire operations will be continuing for some time, but the good news is that containment is rising and most evacuees have been able to return home Is it any wonder we love firemen? Of course, we know the effects of a natural disaster last far longer than the disaster itself. And if we forgot, Texas Governor Greg Abbott reminded us In a weekend interview, he estimated that recovery costs for the state in the wake of Hurricane Harvey will likely hit 180 BILLION dollars So far, the White House has asked Congress for a little under 8 billion, but Governor Abbott has framed that as a down-payment. So for those of us waiting for the big Tiger Woods resurrection, exciting times aheadFor sure, but let_s not take anything away from Webb Simpson, celebrating his first win on the PGA Tour since 2013Now to a sport that_s pretty much the opposite of golf: boxing Vasilly Lomachenko may not be a household name, but this weekend, he was looking to collect a title in his THIRD weight class in just his TWELFTH professional bout And spoiler alert: he got it with a tenth round TKO over Jorge LinaresI know that technically made him the WBA lightweight champ, but there_s nothing lightweight about Lomachenko Just like there_s nothing middling about legendary MMA middleweights Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort. They_ve both had storied careers, but Belfort may wish his story had a different ending than the one it got at UFC 224.Despite or maybe BECAUSE of the outcome, the 41-year-old Belfort reaffirmed post-fight that he_s retiring.
