Brazil_s top court has approved a controversial forestry law that could have a huge impact on the Amazon rainforest The court has upheld a ruling minimizing penalties against landowners who_ve deforested their properties. The law also cuts way back on the size of deforested land that needs to be replaced. The court ruling is a huge blow to environmentalists, who say it_ll create a culture where illegal deforestation is okay. In other words, you can_t see the RAINforest for the trees The impact of the Takata airbag scandal is being felt Down Under, where 2.3 million cars are now being recalled Faulty Takata airbags have been linked to at least 23 deaths worldwide - including one in Australia. Globally, it_s been the largest recall in automotive HISTORY, affecting 100 million vehicles The compulsory recall affects some of the world_s biggest brands, including models from Ford, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Jaguar, and even Tesla And two of America_s biggest retailers are revising their policies when it comes to gun sales. Dick_s Sporting Goods, which boasts more than 600 locations nationwide, says it will stop selling assault-style rifles - including the controversial AR-15 model. Dick_s and WalMart are raising the minimum age to buy guns and ammo from 18 to 21. WalMart stopped selling assault-rifles in 2015.
