Meanwhile the Kaspersky Lab has ALSO shed light on a billion dollar international hacking ring The scheme is believed to have started in 2013 and affected more than one hundred banks in thirty countries. Rather than targeting consumers hackers aimed malware at bank employees to gain info on internal operations. The report says that most of the banks were located in Russia but institutions in China Ukraine and the US were also victimized.
